FAQS

Your question answered - AC Adapters

Q: How do I find the correct AC adapter for my laptop?

To find an AC adapter that fits your laptop is never easy. You have to know the brand, model number of your laptop. You also have to know the watts, voltage and the tips size (measure in diameter) of your original adapter.

To address this complexity, PowerDuplex ® has managed to launch an innovative idea that ease people’s stress in finding the right charger for their laptop: our universal charger will fit the all laptops from the same manufacturer -  that is if you purchase from us an adapter for ASUS laptop, even if you don't even know its model number, you still have the peace of mind that our Universal adapter for ASUS laptop will fit yours.

Q:   What is the A and W on the laptop AC adapter?

The Amperage (amps or A for short) is a measure of the AMOUNT of electricity used.

The A multiplied by the Volts gives you the Wattage (watts), a measure of the WORK that electricity does per second.

To find out the A or W of your laptop, simply look at the label underneath your original AC adapter:

Here we have 15V and 3A.

Your question answered - Camera Battery & Charger

Battery

Q: Your battery does not bear the same model number than the one that came with the camera!

It is perfectly normal. The reason is simple – the battery ordered is a compatible one – thus it might bear a different model #. Moreover, many different manufacturers now share the same battery, but call them differently.

For example:

Pentax NIKON EN EL10 battery is the same battery as Olympus LI 42B battery.

Therefore, you might receive a battery that bears not only a different model # but also for a different brand.

To assess whether you have been sent the correct battery, simply make a simple appraisal of its size and metal pins position comparing it with the original battery.

Q: Your battery does not have the same rating than the one that came with the camera!

Voltage [volts, V]

Our battery voltage should be within +/- volt of the volt rating specified on your original battery. Most popular voltage of camera battery are either 3.6V, 3.7V, or 7.4V.

Capacity [ampere-hour, mAH]

Our battery capacity can be lower or higher than the original battery. You may find that our battery has often has a higher mAH rating than your previous battery. This is not a problem and there is absolutely no risk of damaging your camera. The higher the mAH rating means that the battery will last longer for each recharge and is of a higher specification.

Charger

Q: The mains power cord does not fit my camera/camcorder DC port!

The mains/car cord does not plug directly into the camera/camcorder. Both cords cannot power up the camera directly. It is a battery charger that charges the battery ONLY. The mains/car cord should be plug into the silver charger base provided.

Q: Your charger has only 2 pins whereas the battery has 3 pins!

To charge a battery, only 2 pins are required, the positive and the negative current. The 3rd (or even 4th) pin serves nothing in the charging process, it serves to communicate with the camera only. So don’t worry, a 2 pins charger can recharge a 3 or 4 metal pins battery.

Q: You sent me the wrong charger, I can’t insert the battery into the charger!

We should have sent the correct charger to buyer in 99% of cases. If you can’t insert, please try to turn the battery upside down. If you still have difficulty, please see please ask your seller a video clip showing how to insert the battery into the charger.

Q: The model # of the charger does not match my battery model !

Our charger is can fit several different models/brands of battery. Given that the limited space at the interchangeable plate that it is not possible to list every single battery model that it is compatible. Thus, the simplest way, is to try it on. If the CHARGE light turns to RED, then it is charging!

Please turn the battery the other way around if you still have difficulty in inserting the battery into the charger.

Always feel free to ask for a video clip!
