History  

PowerDuplex® is a trading name of Magamor Ltd. The business was originally formed and trades on Amazon UK back in 2009. We were among the first generation of trader who trade electronics on Amazon. We spotted a gap in the market for a reliable retailer of camcorder battery. We noticed some of the big electrical chain stores were really trying to take advantage of customers, by putting a massive mark up and making large profits on these products. Many were selling just battery of around 700mAH for £40 - £60. We felt that customers were being overcharged and if we could provide a significantly cheaper alternative, we would be successful. 

We then next expand our market to camera battery charger.  

In 2010, when laptop starts to emerge in people everyday’s life, we spotted another gap, the laptop AC adapters. 

90% of consumer when purchasing a new adapter ask: 

"Will this fits my laptop?"

We believe that if our adapter can answer this question, it will be successful. 

We come up with an innovative idea of reshaping the meaning ‘universal’ adapter. 

There are many universal AC adapters out there on the market but they are expensive and they are not really "universal". Usually the universal adapter comes with a set of approx 12 pin, fitting a wide range of laptop manufacturers, like HP, Toshiba, Samsung, Dell, Acer, Sony, IBM and the list goes on. So that means it's average 2 tips per laptop manufacturer. So if I am having a HP laptop, there is a great chance that the provided tips for HP do not fit my laptop.

As for the specific chargers, they are much reasonably priced but we need to do our own research on which adapter will be compatible with our laptop, in terms of voltage (V), watt (W) and the tip size. Laptop manufacturers, in the most of the cases, do not indicate its adapter's specifications, especially the pin size. So the problem comes and the questions raised!
